The Independence From Dependence Picnic was a great success!

Praise the Lord for the success of the 1st Annual Independence From Dependence Picnic. We are still counting but as of now it appears that there were between 175 and 200 folk that came out to celebrate with us the Independence of our great Nation and the freedom that only comes through Christ!

The smoked meat (brisket, sausage, wild pig, and hot dogs) was INCREDIBLE! Thank you, Russ, and your team, for freely giving of your time to make the meal a huge success. The decorations were just awesome! Thank you to Michelle (my lovely wife), Amy Beal, Sarah Schmidt, Brittany Wann, Dana Berryman, Alyssa, Clark Berryman, Dane Bledsoe, Ryan Ramsey, Nathan Jacobs, Scott Cook, and Michael & Patty Stovall for your tireless efforts Thursday through Saturday.

The RU meeting that followed was a sweet time together. We had many first time visitors and several of those folk have expressed that they enjoyed the meeting and intend to participate on Friday nights going forward. THAT IS WHAT IT WAS ALL ABOUT!!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!!

WOW! My Pastor, my Preacher, my Dad, my Counselor, my Friend, my Boss.... my HERO!!! Pastor Wallace was amazing in his preaching on Friday night. If you missed it he preached from John 8:36 about allowing Christ to, "Make You 'Really' Free". It was a blessed night.

Then we wound down the night with an incredible time at the home of Allen and Mary Ann Faulhaber. We had an awesome view to Flower Mound's fireworks show from their back yard. Thanks to the Faulhabers for allowing us that privilege! Then our "Genesis Group" led us in a "sing" with some praise choruses and patriotic songs. All-in-all the whole night was an overwhelming success and it could not have been without the teamwork of so many people!
